We formed Colorado Consulting Group in February 1982 to provide management advice and technical information systems assistance within Colorado.
A successful consulting practice evolves in response to clients’ changing needs and the state of business and technology management.
In our first decade we helped our small business clients automate for the first time with PCs. We helped them choose software and develop in-house capabilities for the first time. We trained hundreds of people to use spread sheets and word processing. We even designed custom applications using primitive databases. ERP system selection and implementation management kept us busy in the 90’s while the new millennium brought e-commerce and browser based applications and processing.
Today our focus is assisting clients in managing the myriad of technologies that are essential to small and medium businesses and local government and managing the associated risks. Unlike decades past, much of the technology is becoming mobile or third party and remotely provided.
The type of assistance we offer now in this new decade of our practice:
- Mentor in building solid business practices around the procurement, contracting and management of technology and data assets.
- Mentor in achieving productivity with supportive business processes around software functionality.
- Mentor in establishing control and security through appropriate user roles and access.
- Mentor user staff in managing the technology and responding to internal and external requirements to protect confidential data and reduce risks.
- Mentor our clients in proactively selecting and managing cloud providers.
- Mentor client management in defining and communicating acceptable use before launching new applications in collaborative computing environments.
- Provide our clients with timely and specific information on current topics and trends. Recent client communications subjects have included Least User Access, Email Retention /Statutory Retention, and Cloud Considerations.
Our success is attributable to our ability to consistently deliver a quality product across a broad range of consulting services. Most of our clients come to us through referral from satisfied clients.
